User Security at TCI

How can I tell that my credit card transactions are secure?

When you order through TCI, your user and creditcard information gets encrypted on the "CHECKOUT" pages. On these pages you will notice a picture of a "lock" on your browser. Please see the pictures below to see what yours will look like. To make it easy, remember this phrase:

Your a secure fellow, if the locks are yellow!!

Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator both use a small Yellow Lock to indicate that a connection is secure. If the closed lock does not appear on your browser window, your connection is not secure, with one exception. If the destination web address begins with "https:" instead of "http:", your browser will encrypt information before sending it to that secure server. As a rule of thumb, however, never send private information without the closed lock showing on your browser window. YOU WILL GO INTO SSL SECURE MODE WHEN YOU CHECKOUT!

The following diagrams will help you to identify whether or not your connection has been secured:

Cookies and IP addresses Our website runs off of programming that uses cookies to know who you are. We use this technology in order to provide you with a customized version of the website and allow you to save some settings or preferences. We do record connections from computers for demographic and data purposes. In order to do this, we record connections coming from IP address. Every connection that is made on the internet is made by two IP addresses - your computer and the host computer you are connecting to. Not only do we keep this data for demographic purposes but for security as well.
